Speaker & Panelist Biographies:

Dr. Eva Chan
Chairman, Hong Kong Investor Relations Association, Head of Investor Relations, C C Land Holdings Limited

Dr. Chan is the Head of Investor Relations of C C Land Holdings Limited (stock code: 1224). She has more than 25 years of experience and was the CFOs and company secretaries of various listed companies in Hong Kong. She is mainly responsible for formulating the IR strategies for the company and conducting meetings with investors and fund managers all over the world. She also leads in a number of corporate finance exercises and corporate restructuring activities.

Dr. Chan is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Capital Environment Holdings Limited (stock code: 3989) and is appointed as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Accounting and Finance of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Dr. Chan graduated from the City University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. She then earned her MBA degree from the University of Nottingham. She also obtained a DBA degree from the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. She is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Investor Relations Association, a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries, a fellow member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.


Professor Louis Cheng
Professor of Finance, School of Accounting and Finance, Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Dr. Cheng is a Professor of Finance at the School of Accounting and Finance of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is a member of the Investment Committee of the Hospital Authority Provident Fund Scheme (Nov 2016 - Nov 2018) and a member of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal Panel from November 2013 to October 2019. He also serves as a member for the Business Studies Panel (Joint Research Schemes, Feb 2016 - Jan 2018) and the Monitoring & Assessment Panel of the Local Self-financing Sector (Feb 2015 - Aug 2017); both for the Research Grants Council (RGC). He served as a Council member and a Trustee of the Pension Fund of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in January 2011 to February 2013. He also served as a member of the Advisory Committee on Human Resources Development in the Financial Services Sector for HKSAR in June 2009 to May 2013. He is currently a member of the Examination Board of The Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong (IFPHK). He has been a CFPCM certificant since 2001.

Dr. Cheng graduated with a DBA in Finance from Louisiana Tech University in 1989. Before joining PolyU, he was an Associate Professor of Finance at Murray State University in Kentucky. He served as a Visiting Scholar at Hong Kong Baptist University in 1995-96 and at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in the Spring of 1997. In the summer of 2003, he served as the HSBC Fellow of Asian Financial Markets at the University of Exeter in UK. Moreover, he has more than 80 articles published in top finance research journals including the Journal of Finance. In 2009, he was ranked 108 globally in terms of financial research in a paper by Heck and Cooley.

Dr. Cheng is an author of Fundamentals of Financial Planning by McGraw-Hill, 2006, and the lead author of Financial Planning and Wealth Management: An International Perspective, also by McGraw-Hill, 2008. Dr. Cheng served as a project consultant for various organizations including Bank of China (HK) Private Banking, Investor Education Centre (IEC), Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme Authority (MPFA), Value Partners, Agricultural Bank of China (HK) Private Banking, Bank Consortium Trust Hong Kong, Fubon Bank, Hong Kong Exchanges (HKEx), Charles Schwab (US), Tai Fook Securities, and Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI).


Mr. Franky Chung
Senior Vice President, China Client & Marketing Services, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd.

Franky Chung comes with close to 20 years of extensive experience in the financial industry from commercial and government sectors. Franky joined HKEx in 2005 and drives the marketing initiatives in the Mainland, including promoting Hong Kong as the premier offshore listing platform for Mainland enterprises, and the Hong Kong securities market for Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect. Leading the IPO marketing function in the Mainland with colleagues from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, he is closely networked with government authorities and business communities. Over the past years, Franky has spoken in over 100 seminars in incubating Mainland potential issuers for Hong Kong listing and sharing his insights on listing preparation work.

Before joining HKEx, he worked in various international investment & commercial banks and Big 4 accountancy firm where he specialized in IPOs, corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions and direct investment. He has also worked for the HKSAR Government for promoting Hong Kong before.

Mr. Chung obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and studied in the United States before. He has obtained the professional qualifications of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

He is currently the Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Listed Companies Council under the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association. Besides, he has been serving in the Queen’s College Old Boys’ Association for contributing back to his mother school.


Mr. Angus Guthrie
Director - Investor Relations, CLP Holdings

Angus Guthrie has over thirty years experience in the energy industry and has led the Investor Relations program at CLP Holdings Ltd in Hong Kong for over two years.

Originally trained as a geophysicist he worked in oil and gas exploration for a number of companies in Australia. After time in the Planning Department of Esso Australia he undertook exploration, commercial, strategy and planning roles with Boral Energy. He worked on the demerger of Boral Energy from its parent conglomerate to form Origin Energy in 2000. In 2001 he took over Investor Relations, building the program over 10 years as the market capitalization grew from around A$1 billion to A$15 billion.

In 2008 Angus was awarded Best Investor Relations Officer by Peer Vote in Australia. He joined the Board of the Australian Investor Relations Association (AIRA) in 2009 and was Chairman of AIRA for two years from 2011 to 2013. He left Origin and joined the CLP subsidiary EnergyAustralia in 2012 before moving to Hong Kong to work for CLP in April 2014.

Angus holds a Bachelor of Science with Honors and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Adelaide. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a Panel Member of the Hong Kong Investor Relations Association.


Mr. Romnesh Lamba
Co-Head of Market Development, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited

Mr. Lamba is the Co-Head of the Market Development Division at HKEX Group which includes all product development, project management, client and marketing services, mainland affairs, and corporate communications. Mr. Lamba runs Market Development alongside his co-head Mr. Li Gang.

Mr. Lamba is also a Director of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited, as well as a member of the HKEX Management Committee.

Mr. Lamba has 29 years of experience in the financial services industry. Before joining HKEX, Mr. Lamba held senior positions at JP Morgan’s and Merrill Lynch’s Asian Investment Banking groups. He worked in the US for nine years before moving to Hong Kong in 1994. Mr. Lamba holds Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Economics degrees from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in the US.


Ms. Emily Lau
Corporate Communications and Investor Relations Manager, Pacific Basin Shipping Limited

Ms. Lau graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 2003 with a BA degree in Geography and History and an MSc degree in Applied Accounting and Finance from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2012. She joined Suga International Holding in 2004 as a member of the Corporate Management team. In February 2005, she joined Pacific Basin as Investor Relations Assistant and promoted to Manager in 2008. She is now responsible for corporate communications and investor relations of the Group. She was awarded the Best IR Professionals - Transport (sell side) by Institutional Investors Asia Executive Awards in 2012 and 2013, and Best IR Professional by Corporate Governance Asia in 2015.


Mr. Patrick Lau
Senior Vice President, Head of Corporate Finance and Investor Relations, Esprit Holdings Limited

Patrick Lau is Senior Vice President, Head of Corporate Finance and Investor Relations at Esprit Holdings Limited. He joined Esprit as Vice President of Corporate Finance in 2000, and expanded his responsibilities to also lead Mergers and Acquisitions, Treasury, Investor Relations and Business Analysis since. Under Patrick’s leadership, Esprit has won many awards and recognitions for IR best practices from various organizations including Institutional Investor survey, IR Magazine, ARC Awards for annual report, Hong Kong Management Association, Thomson Extel Survey, Corporate Governance Asia, Asiamoney, The Asset and Finance Asia, etc.

Prior to joining Esprit, Patrick worked seven years in the investment and corporate finance fields, and held positions in several Hong Kong listed companies including Head of Direct Investment at China Nonferrous Metals Group, and corporate finance positions at Sun Hung Kai International and Tianjin Development. Patrick started his career as an engineer at Mobil Oil in 1989.

Patrick holds a bachelor degree in engineering from the University of Toronto, a MBA degree from Schulich School of Business in Canada, and attended executive program in financial management at Harvard Business School, Boston.


Ms. Priscilla Luk
Senior Director, Head of Asia Pacific, Global Research & Design, S&P Dow Jones Indices

Priscilla Luk serves as senior director, head of Asia Pacific in global research and design at S&P Dow Jones indices. She is responsible for conceptualization and design of new indexes using a combination of analytical, commercial and regulatory considerations. Priscilla also regularly publishes research on new and existing products, and represents S&P Dow Jones indices at media engagements, conferences and other client events.

Prior to joining S&P Dow Jones Indices in 2012, Priscilla has spent over ten years in equity research providing analysis on asset allocation and equity investment strategies. She was Asian equity strategist with Deutsche Bank AG since June 2010. Before this, Priscilla was the partner and director of research at First Horse Capital, a global equity hedge fund management company. Previously, she was Global and Asian strategist at Mirae Asset Securities.

Priscilla was Global equity strategist since April 2004 and Asian equity strategist since August 2003 at Citigroup Global Markets. Priscilla joined Citigroup from CLSA Asia Pacific Markets where she was a quantitative research analyst. Priscilla started her career in quantitative research division at Credit Suisse in 2001.

Priscilla graduated with a B.Sc. in Quantitative Finance from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.


Mr. Adrian Mak
Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary, Television Broadcasts Limited

Mr. Mak joined Television Broadcasts Limited in 2004. Prior to his current position, Mr. Mak was CFO for Global Digital Creations Holdings Limited. Between 1992 and 2000, Mr. Mak was an associate director of the Corporate Finance Division at the Securities and Futures Commission in Hong Kong. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.


Ms. Victoria Mio, CFA, CPA (US), FRM
Chief Investment Officer China, Fund Manager, Robeco Chinese Equities, Co-Head Robeco Asia Pacific Equities

Victoria Mio is co-Head Asia Pacific Equities and CIO China at Robeco.

She has been the Lead Portfolio Manager of Robeco Chinese Equities Fund and a member of the Asia- Pacific team in Hong Kong since 2008. Prior to this, she spent 2 years in the Emerging Markets team in Rotterdam, Robeco head-offices and started managing Robeco Chinese Equities Fund in 2007.

Victoria Mio holds various professional designations, such as Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Public Accountant (US) and a Financial Risk Manager.

Before joining Robeco in 2006, Victoria Mio worked for seven years in the US and five years in China and held senior positions in several financial institutions including JPMorgan Chase & Co, Asterion Capital LLC, and Banco Nacional Ultramarino SA. Victoria Mio started her career in 1992 and has over 20 years of experience in financial service industry.

Victoria Mio obtained an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Victoria Mio also holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Macau.


Mr. Gary Ng
Vice President, Investor Relations, Lenovo Group Limited

Gary Ng is Vice President, Investor Relations of the Lenovo Group, a Fortune 500 company and a leading personal technology company in the world. He is responsible for the group’s global investor relations programs and policies.

Mr. Ng has extensive experience in investor relations and financial communications. Under Mr. Ng’s leadership, Lenovo has won a number of IR awards including 2016 Top 3 Best IR Program (sell-side), 2015 Top 2 Most Honored Companies and Best IR Company (Asia Technology / Hardware) by Institutional Investor Magazine; 2014 & 2013 Global Top 50, 2012 Grand Prix IR Award by IR Magazine; 2015 Best IR Company - Large Cap by Hong Kong Investor Relations Association (HKIRA) . Gary was also recognized by the industry for his achievements, and has been consistently ranked top IR professional in Hong Kong / China, including the Best IRO – Large Cap by HKIRA in 2016; Best IR Professional (Technology / Hardware) by Institutional Investor Magazine in 2015, and a number of other IR awards. Prior to Lenovo, Mr. Ng has worked for a number of Hong Kong listed companies including Esprit Holdings, Clear Media and Guangdong Kelon during which Gary has also won a number of awards in investor relations.

Mr. Ng holds a master degree in International Communications from Macquarie University, Australia, a MBA degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a bachelor degree of Social Science in Economics & Finance from the University of Hong Kong. He is the founder and former chairman of the Investor Relations Association Asia (The predecessor of HKIRA). Gary is also a fellow member of HK Institute of Chartered Secretary, Specialist of Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic & Vocational Qualifications and a member of Advisory Board of Hong Kong Federation of Business Students.


Mr. Geert Peeters
Executive Director & Chief Financial Officer, CLP Holdings

Mr. Peeters has been the Group Director & Chief Financial Officer since 1 April 2014, responsible for Group financial control & reporting, Group treasury, Group tax, Group corporate finance, risk management and investor relations of CLP Holdings Limited. He was appointed the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of CLP Holdings with effect from 1 January 2016.

Mr. Peeters has over 25 years of experience in the energy industry. Prior to joining CLP, he was the Deputy Chief Financial Officer of GDF SUEZ (now known as ENGIE) Group based in Paris. Mr. Peeters was with GDF SUEZ from 1997 to 2013, gaining extensive experience in senior financial and operational roles in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and North America. During his service with GDF SUEZ he also assumed the role of Investor Relations. He served as the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of International Power plc, a GDF SUEZ subsidiary listed on the London Stock Exchange and part of the FTSE 100 index until July 2012. Before joining GDF SUEZ, Mr. Peeters worked for KBC Bank in Brussels and New York and for Tractebel Energy Engineering at the Doel Nuclear Power Plant in Antwerp (Belgium). He served as a Reserve Officer in the Belgian Air Force.

In the past three years, Mr. Peeters served on the boards of several listed energy companies including International Power plc. (listed in UK), E-CL (listed in Chile) and Glow Energy (listed in Thailand). He is a member of the CNBC Global CFO Council.

Mr. Peeters, a Knight in the Order of King Leopold, has a master of science in electro mechanical engineering (hons. RUG Gent, Belgium), a postgraduate degree in business and IT administration (HEC Brussels, Belgium) and attended executive business training at INSEAD Paris, France.


Mr. Daniel Poon
Managing Director, Deputy Chief Investment Officer, Zeal Asset Management Limited

Mr. Poon has over 29 years of experience in the equity investment industry. Prior to establishing Zeal, he was a Senior Analyst at Buena Vista Fund Management Ltd. from 2005 to 2009. He was responsible for researching listed companies mainly in the Greater China region and making investment decisions for Buena Vista's client portfolios. Since 1987, Mr. Poon has worked for many major financial institutions, including ABN AMRO, Deutsche Bank, HG Asia and UBS, where he held senior positions including Head of Asian Equity Sales and Head of Hong Kong / China Equities. Mr. Poon holds an MBA from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a B.Sc. degree in Economics & Statistics from the University of Hong Kong.


Mr. Hugh Pye
Head of Investor Relations, Asia-Pacific, HSBC Holdings plc

Hugh Pye is Head of Investor Relations, Asia-Pacific for HSBC Holdings plc. He joined HSBC in June 2009 after twenty years in Equity Research, covering the Bank sector.

During this period he was Head of European Banks research for BNP Paribas, Global Head of Banks Research for Robert Fleming Securities, and Head of European Banks Research for BZW. In his earlier career, Hugh worked for Barclays Bank International in the UK, USA and Hong Kong.

Hugh has a Bachelor's degree with Honours in Geography from University College London in the UK. He has three children and lives in Hong Kong.


Mr. Marcus Sultzer
CEO Asia-Pacific, EQS Group, Managing Director, EQS TodayIR

As Chief Executive Officer and along with his team of 40 within the region, Marcus is responsible for servicing EQS Group's 500+ clients in Asia and to further grow the Group’s business in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, and Mainland China. In addition to that, Marcus has a leading role in driving EQS Group’s internationalization plans as well as overseeing strategic expansion plans in other markets such as the Middle East. Marcus joined EQS Group in 2007 as Executive Assistant to the Group's CEO at the Munich headquarter, overseeing strategic projects, business reporting, and investor relations. Between 2009 to 2012, Marcus was General Director of the Group's business in Moscow, responsible for the company’s incorporation and business development in Russia and CIS. Prior working at EQS Group, Marcus was a Sales Executive at a premium online service provider, managing corporate websites for multinational companies including Daimler (Mercedes Benz). Marcus studied economics and holds an MBA.


Dr. Kelvin Wong, JP DBA FHKIoD
Executive Director & Deputy Managing Director, COSCO SHIPPING Ports Limited

Dr. Wong is an Executive Director and Deputy Managing Director of COSCO SHIPPING Ports Limited (former name: COSCO Pacific Limited) (the “Company”). He is the Chairman of the Corporate Governance Committee of the Company.

Dr. Wong is the immediate past Chairman and was the Chairman (2009-2014) of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors, a Non-executive Director of the Securities and Futures Commission, a member of the Financial Reporting Council, a member of the Corruption Prevention Advisory Committee of Independent Commission Against Corruption, a Board Director of the Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited, a council member of The Hong Kong Management Association, a member of the OECD/World Bank Asian Corporate Governance Roundtable and a council advisor and past Chairman of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra Limited. Dr. Wong is a former member of the Main Board and GEM Listing Committee of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (2007-2013) and the Standing Committee on Company Law Reform (2010-2016).

Dr. Wong is currently an Independent Non-executive Director of Asia Investment Finance Group Limited, Bank of Qingdao Co., Ltd., China ZhengTong Auto Services Holdings Limited, Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd., Huarong International Financial Holdings Limited, I.T Limited and Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd. All the aforementioned companies are listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.

He obtained his Master of Business Administration degree from Andrews University in Michigan, the USA in 1992 and his Doctor of Business Administration degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2007.


Mr. Stephen Wong
Deputy Head of Institutional Business Department, Shenwan Hongyuan Securities (HK) Ltd

Mr. Stephen Wong is the deputy head of Institutional Sales department of Shenwan Hongyuan Securities (H.K.) Limited. He has more than 15 years experience in financial industry and focus on China-Hong Kong cross-border business. He was in position of director of cross-border investment management team at BOCI, the head of asset management of Huatai Financial Holding Limited in before and has both buy and sell side experience.


Mr. Pat Woo
Partner, KPMG China

Pat is a core member of the KPMG China Steering Committee on Climate Change & Sustainability (“CC&S”).

Pat has been active for over 7 years in the field of sustainable development in his previous capacity as a director at Central Textiles. Through his leadership Central Textiles was the first textile company in Asia to issue a Sustainability Report under the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Guidelines in 2008. The report subsequently received an award from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Through his initiatives Central Textiles subsequently won the Gold Award for the Hang Seng Pearl River Delta Environmental Award in 2012 and the Hong Kong Award for Environmental Excellence – Manufacturing Sector in 2013.

For his contribution to the textile industry with regards to sustainability, Pat received the Young Industrialist of the Year award from the Federation of Hong Kong Industries in 2009.

Pat currently serves on the United Nations Economic & Social Commission for Asia Pacific (UNESCAP) on their Sustainable Business Network Task Force on Banking and finance.


Mr. Eric Yau
Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Finance, Link Asset Management Limited

Eric Siu Kei YAU is currently the Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Finance at Link Asset Management Limited. Eric oversees three functions – Investor Relations, Corporate Finance and Sustainability – at Link and works closely with other functions under stakeholder engagement. He joined Link in 2010 and was originally part of the Investment team responsible for identifying and developing merger and acquisition initiatives for Link, as well as assisting in the formulation of strategy in corporate sustainability.

Prior to joining Link, Eric worked as an investment banker and corporate manager in DBS Asia Capital Limited, CLP Holdings Limited, UBS Investment Bank and J.P. Morgan. He holds a Master degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, a Master of Arts degree in Regional Studies (East Asia) from Harvard University Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, as well as dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in International Relations and East Asian Studies from Brown University.
