Executive Certificate in Financial Communication
The “Executive Certificate in Financial Communication” is designed to provide knowledge and hands on experience sharing of the key aspect of communicating to shareholders and the capital market.
Upon completion of all courses below, attendees will gain a broad understanding of how seasoned IR practitioners provide equal, effective, and timely access to balanced and understandable information of their listed companies. As such, shareholders and the capital market are able to exercise their rights in an informed manner, and engage actively with the listed companies.
The “Executive Certificate in Financial Communication” consists of seven core courses and one session of experience sharing and role-play simulation as follows:

This is a special session for all attendees to openly ask questions and share experiences related to any financial communication topics. The course instructor together with guest speakers (including experienced IR, senior management, industry experts) will share their views and answer questions on financial communication of key day to day IR tasks. They will also facilitate the attendees to participate in series of role-play simulations to enable each attendee to obtain a broader understanding of financial communication that are most relevant to their current and future job responsibility.

- Timetable (key events)
- Knowing who your current shareholders are and their compliance people who make voting decisions, read their firm policies before engagement
- Engage with proxy advisors (Glass Lewis, ISS), read firm policies beforehand
- How to prepare powerpoint to summarize key points from AGM circulars
- AGM solicitation
- Prepare an AGM voting behaviour prediction based on proxy advisors’ reports and shareholder engagement
- Manage the Board/Senior Management’s expectation and communicate timely
- Remind those shareholders who are likely to support Company to cast votes
- Compare the final poll results with the prediction and evaluate

There is no prerequisite on enrolment. No test or examination is required by any of the courses.
Attendees may freely choose to take any of the individual course above. Upon attending the entire 8 courses above, the attendees will be awarded an “Executive Certificate in Financial Communication” issued by HKIRA.
The classes will be taught in Cantonese, but course instructors may interact with attendees of the class in the same language on questions raised with either Cantonese or Putonghua.
Course materials will be provided in English. Chinese course materials will be made upon request for corporate or board trainings.
CPD acknowledgement will be issued for each individual course upon request.
