Seminar: Trend on ESG reporting - Hong Kong Listed Companies

13 October 2017 (Friday)
Time: 4:30 – 5:00 pm Registration
5:00 – 6:00 pm Seminar
Venue: KPMG Office
8th Floor, Prince’s Building, Central, Hong Kong (map)
Outline: Many of the listed companies have issued their ESG report following the ESG Reporting Guide set out in Appendix 27 of the Listing Rules of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Interested to find out how the companies are reacting to the Guide's disclosure requirements, whether they are 'complying' or 'explaining' and their reporting quality, KPMG is surveying the ESG reporting of over 300 issuers to understand the ESG reporting landscape in the first year of the implementation of the ESG Reporting Guide.

Participants of this seminar will be one of the first to view the results prior to the official release of the survey and get practical advice on how to improve the quality of reporting. The following topics will be explored:
  1. The reporting landscape, including the reporting format, guidelines referred to and assurance practice
  2. "Comply or explain" on ESG aspects
  3. Disclosure of the key performance indicators
  4. Reporting quality with regard to general disclosures and the application of the reporting principles of materiality, balance, quantitative and consistency
