Fire-side Chat - Can we adapt to Climate Change? The Financial Challenge
Investments designed to mitigate emissions tend to produce marketable products (clean energy) or marketable services (CCS) that will generate a revenue stream that gives assurance that financings will be repaid (collateral).
How or why the provider of funds could be assured that sufficient new revenues will be generated to service the debt?
If this indeed limits our access to low-cost adaptations, will it raise the overall cost of managing climate change?

ESG or sustainability related topics have seen growing importance in discussions with investors. Some investors have requested detailed information in various areas on sustainability and IROs must keep themselves up to date on the latest ESG reporting requirements.

What are the latest ESG reporting requirements and what additional information is required for disclosure under the ISSB framework? How do investors see the implementation of the ISSB framework? What ESG information are the investors/asset managers hoping to see? Which ESG ratings do investors look for? #Panel Discussion 2 - IRO as a strategic enable for the C-Suite Executives

Over the years, the Investor Relations (IR) function has seen a tremendous shift in its relevance and role. Not only is the IRO responsible for the correct messaging to the investors and the financial community, he or she is also increasingly expected to provide insights into strategy and the way the business functions, due to his or her outward facing role and access to investors and stakeholders. That is to say, the IRO is not merely a mouth piece for the company but an internal counsel and a strategic enabler for the C- suite executives.

How could we position IR as a strategic function in the organisation? That is to say, how to ensure that the IRO could add value to the company and its business; How could the C-Suite Executives get involved to ensure that the IRO is well informed of the company's strategy going forward and they are also made known of the important development of the competitive landscape as well as investors and analysts' feedback and expectation? In short, how could we conduct an effective two-way communications between the IRO and the C-Suite Executives?
