With investor relations (IR) being an important component of corporate governance, more and more listed companies have set up their own IR department to achieve transparency and effective communications with investors and fund mangers. HKIRA shared with HKET on the professional responsibilities and future prospect of the IR profession in Hong Kong.

Our founder Dr. Eva Chan highlighted that IR is more than just merely delivering information to and interacting with investors, analysts and media, but rather, professionally providing appropriate   information   based   on   the

different needs of the info recipients. Hence, the ultimate goal of IR is managing the expectations of investors.

Although IR has been around for quite a period of time, it is expected that with the steady increase in the number of listed companies in Hong Kong each year, IR industry is bound to continue to evolve and mature with bright prospects.
