Over the past decade, the investor relations community in Hong Kong has navigated through a myriad of challenges and transformative changes. We have witnessed the increasing focus on corporate governance, the launch of ESG regulations, the rise of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies, the advent of big data and AI, the disruptive impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the impact of geopolitical landscape on the Hong Kong capital market. Throughout these turbulent times, our IR professionals have risen to the occasion, demonstrating remarkable resilience and adaptability. Our community has not merely weathered the storms, but has emerged stronger, more innovative, and more influential than ever before.
The year, themed " Celebrating a Decade of Collaborative Efforts: Strengthening Investor Trust and Hong Kong's International Financial Centre Position", attracted over 200 guests from listed companies, the investment community, and IR professionals, who gathered to witness the outstanding achievements in investor relations practices that are setting new benchmarks for the profession in Hong Kong. Thanks to our Media Partners, irasia, Gelonghui and Yuediaoyan, there were about 5,000 participants joined the event online.
The ceremony was honored to have Dr. Kelvin Wong, SBS JP, Chairman of the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council, as the Guest of Honor. In his insightful speech, Dr. Wong shared his valuable insights and expectations for the investor relations work of Hong Kong-listed companies, underscoring the strategic value that IR brings to organizations and the capital markets.
We have invited distinguished speakers from regulators, government body and industry experts to share their insights during the morning conference. The conference opened with a keynote address from Ms. Katherine Ng, Head of Listing at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX). This was followed by Ms. Jennifer Lee, Director of Corporate Finance at the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC). Lastly, we were honored to welcome Dr. Au King Lun, Executive Director and Board Member of the Financial Services Development Council (FSDC).
The 40 winning companies, selected after rigorous evaluation, have truly elevated the bar for investor relations excellence in Hong Kong. Their achievements serve as inspirational examples for the IR community, showcasing the profession's ability to rise to the challenges and seize opportunities presented by the evolving capital markets.

HKIRA Executive Certificate in Interpretation of Financial Statements (Rerun Class)

NIRI's Certification Program - Investor Relations Charter (IRC®) – USA
Hong Kong Investor Relations Association (HKIRA) is pleased to continue our collaboration with NIRI – National Investor Relations Institute to bring the Investor Relations Charter (IRC®) Certification Program to IR practitioners in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
NIRI has announced that from March 1, 2022, they will go live with the IRC exam on demand and online with live remote proctoring. Approved candidates can sit for the exam at the time of their choosing and in their preferred location as long they meet the security and system requirements.
NIRI has also added some tools for the convenience of the test takers including an on-screen notepad, an on-screen calculator, and an optional 10-minute break.
Attendees who pass the examination and meet all the necessary requirements by NIRI, will receive a certification welcome package from NIRI to confirm their success. IRC designation can be used to denote certificate on the corporate collaterals of the successfully completed attendees.

Hong Kong Investor Relations Association (HKIRA) is a professional non-profit association comprising IR practitioners and corporate executives responsible for communications between corporate management and the investment community. Established in 2008, HKIRA advocates the setting of international standards in IR education, promotes best IR practices and strives to meet the professional development needs of those interested in pursuing the investor relations profession.
